Laura Bush

I think she's a bigger idiot than her husband.

This is from Reuters:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - First lady Laura Bush said on Sunday she does not believe opinion polls showing her husband's approval ratings at record low levels.

Interviewed on Fox News Sunday, Laura Bush said she did not think people were losing confidence in President George W. Bush, despite a series of polls showing support for him at its lowest point in his five-year presidency and among the lowest for any president in the past 50 years.

"I don't really believe those polls. I travel around the country. I see people, I see their responses to my husband. I see their response to me," she said.

Damn! She is one delusional woman. Bush speaks before handpicked crowds. What Laura sees is the 29% of America that still supports Bush. She does not see that most of the nation hates his guts.

Bush Might Send
National Guard To Border

Bush is a very desperate man. Desperate politicians will do anything when it comes to their legacy and I'm willing to bet that Bush might even pull a "Wag the Dog" if his poll numbers dip anymore than they already have. A few weeks ago he said he wanted Congress to pass a guest worker plan and now he wants to send troops to the border. I don't think he can have it both ways but I bet he'll try to pull it off. Interesting Article From CNN
On Latino Population Growth

This is from CNN.Com:
President Bush and Congress have been debating changes to the nation's immigration laws in recent months, spawning a series of high-profile demonstrations across the country by protesters sympathetic to illegal immigrants.

Mark Sawyer, an assistant professor of political science at UCLA, said the growing Hispanic population nationwide could tip the political balance in some states.

Potentially alienating Hispanic voters, he said, "is of concern to the Republican Party."

Hispanic voters, he said, tend to "believe in a kind of social safety net."

"They're concerned about education and health care and believe the government should play a role in it," Sawyer said. "That potentially means that many red states may turn blue, particularly those that still have a large African-American population."
The Republicans are more conservative and they do not believe in a social safety net. This is what I think will happen. The House of Representatives will not give in on the immigration debate and in order to pass an immigration bill, the Senate will have to pull any type of amnesty off of the table. There will also be a civilian backlash against illegal aliens along the border and this will be started by the conservative movement. Minorities will not like what's happening and the Republicans will be seen as harsh toward immigrants and those of hispanic descent. Then, like Mark Sawyer said in the article, red states will suddenly turn blue and the Republicans will lose control. Once the Democrats take control, they will pass a new immigration bill that gives all of the illegal aliens amnesty and the Democrats will have their new voting bloc for decades.

Hillary Clinton

Is Hillary Clinton a liberal or conservative? I think she's an opportunist out to get as many people on her side before she tells the world that she is running for president. It seems like she's moving to the right but this could be a trick to get conservatives to vote for her.

Looks Like I Was Right

In the previous post, I mentioned how Nancy Pelosi might stop any attempts to impeach Bush if she became majority leader in November. According to Rawstory, it looks like California Democrats are getting an early start on selling America out:
LA MESA, CALIFORNIA -- An impeachment resolution introduced into the California Legislature by Assemblyman Paul Koretz (D-West Hollywood) may be blocked from reaching the floor, RAW STORY has learned.

"I think there is a shot," Koretz said when asked what odds Assembly Joint Resolution 39 has of winning passage. "The question is whether the leadership will let it move. There are a lot of bipartisan issues we're trying to work on this year," he added. (Text of the resolution.)

Democrats control both houses of the California Legislature. But leaders may be wary of losing Republican support for budget and tax measures, which require a two-thirds majority for passage under California law

The Democrats are spineless cowards who only care about power. Most Democrats voted for the Iraq war, Bush's tax cuts, and the Patriot Act so I shouldn't be surprised that they will block any attempts for a resolution to impeach Bush. The corruption of the Republican Party and the lack of any backbone from the Democratic Party is one of the reasons why I will remain an independent.

Stand Up To Bush

That's what Senator Feingold is telling his fellow Democrats but I doubt if they'll listen to him. Nancy Pelosi said she would not seek to impeach Bush if Dems regained control of the House of Representatives and that statement should be enough for some left wingers in California to vote against her in the primary election. The Dems should find some way to oust Pelosi from her current position because if the Dems gain control in November and she becomes majority leader, I think that she will put down all attempts to impeach Bush.

Osama Bin Ladin

I think Osama is dead and has been dead for years. I was looking over some links from the site "What Really Happened" and I found this Dec. 2001 story from Fox News:

Usama bin Laden has died a peaceful death due to an untreated lung complication, the Pakistan Observer reported, citing a Taliban leader who allegedly attended the funeral of the Al Qaeda leader.

"The Coalition troops are engaged in a mad search operation but they would never be able to fulfill their cherished goal of getting Usama alive or dead," the source said.

Bin Laden, according to the source, was suffering from a serious lung complication and succumbed to the disease in mid-December, in the vicinity of the Tora Bora mountains. The source claimed that bin Laden was laid to rest honorably in his last abode and his grave was made as per his Wahabi belief.

About 30 close associates of bin Laden in Al Qaeda, including his most trusted and personal bodyguards, his family members and some "Taliban friends," attended the funeral rites. A volley of bullets was also fired to pay final tribute to the "great leader."

I believe that all the videos have been faked. Who has benefited from the tape releases? The Bush administration has and they will continue to use various means to induce fear in the American population. This whole war on terrorism is bullshit. If we really wanted to stop terrorism, we would've went into Saudi Arabia instead of Iraq.

The same thing goes for nuclear weapons. If we wanted a middle east free of nuclear weapons, we would go after Israel instead of Iran. Brazil has a nuclear program but you don't see Bush demanding that Brazil stop their program, now do you? Any person that joins the military while Bush is still in office is a fool. What the hell are they fighting for in Iraq? There were no wmds and there was no link between Osama and Saddam. Your representatives in government continue to fund this war and a lot of people out there continue to buy into their bullshit.

Wake up people!!

Sheriff to Start Posse Patrols to Curb Illegal Immigration Flow

This is from KPHO-Phoenix:
(CBS 5 NEWS) - Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio announced that approximately 100 volunteer posse and Sheriff's Deputies will soon begin randomly patrolling the desert areas and main roadways in southwest Maricopa County as a part of an operation to curb the flow of illegal immigrants entering the county.

Arpaio made the announced just as 11 more illegal immigrants were being booked in jail after a Ford Windstar with California plates and 16 people packed inside was stopped by a Sheriff's deputy early Tuesday morning on a traffic violation near Gila Bend.

Despite the growing controversy about illegal aliens nationwide, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office remains the only Arizona law enforcement agency willing to enforce a new state anti-smuggling law.

"There are so many illegals trying to make it into the county that it's overwhelming my deputies, so I have called on members of my 3000 member volunteer posse to assist," says Sheriff Arpaio. "It's not only illegals we find and arrest out there, we've also made some recent huge drug seizures involving illegal aliens including nearly 100 pounds of methamphetamine and approximately three pounds of heroin."

Posse man Andrew Ramsammy, who was part of Tuesday's arrest team, says that he believes he represents many of his peers when he says that the posse is anxious to be a part of the Sheriff's solution to the immigration problem.

I think this is a good idea and more counties along the border should start doing this.

Illegals

I can't wait to see if Congress gives the illegals what they want. The senate wants to give them amnesty and the House wants to deport them. I don't hate the people but I have to side with the House of Representatives on this one. If they really want to get into America, they can wait in line like everyone else. We should not give them any type of special treatment. In November, some people will be voting based on this issue and if Congress makes the wrong move, this could be the last year in office for a lot of our representatives. Here are some links to blogs & sites dealing with illegal immigration.
